about us

Village Online is an online community newspaper produced by students of St Andrew’s Secondary School, Singapore, as part of the Journalism-In-Curriculum Programme refurbished in 2011.
The site sets out to be a platform for the SASS students to express themselves, to set the agenda on what they really want to read about, and to learn to be meaningful content producers. Conceived as an online community newspaper, Village Online wants to be the bridge between the school and the community it is located in. Local reporting assignments get the students out of the school gates and engaged in the community.
As its tagline says, Village Online wants to bring you the happenings both inside the school and outside its gates – and more. We bring with us the fresh perspective on issues that youths have, examining them inside out and upside down.
The website after a restructure is headed by a team of students who are responsible for the maintanence of the site together with Mr. Tan Yan Ho and the assistance of Mr. Nigel Lim.
This website is the joint effort between the Village Online team and The SASPhotog Club who provides imagery for the reports.
